The next factor for consideration is whether you should write a post and then find a blog to submit it to, or write a post with a specific blog in mind.
My suggestion would be to have a blog in mind and to tailor your post to that blog first. However, you need a backup plan in case that blog doesn’t want to publish your post so before you begin writing, gather a list of perhaps 3-4 blogs that you could approach with your post. You don’t want to go to the effort of writing a post and then not have anywhere to publish it.
All in all, the method of guest posting is very powerful and can produce incredible results.
